## Graduate Development Program (GDP) – Drill & Blast Engineer (Code: GDBE/V/26)
This program is designed to cultivate the next generation of mining leaders. We are looking for a proactive professional to support our Drill & Blast operations at the Toka Tindung Site, ensuring that every phase of our extraction process meets our high safety and efficiency standards.
Core Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be tasked with the following key operations:
* Reporting and Documentation: Compile, verify, and archive comprehensive drilling and blasting reports, ensuring data accuracy for performance reviews.
* Quality Assurance: Oversee the implementation of QA/QC protocols within the Drill & Blast department.
* Performance Monitoring: Collect and analyze air blast and vibration data, ensuring that all findings are properly logged in our central database.
* Stakeholder Communication: Coordinate with various departments to distribute actual blast boundaries and volume statistics in a timely manner.
* Operational Support: Assist in XYZ floor prediction analysis and manage the logistics of morning briefings.
* Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to scheduling for weekly performance and field crew reporting, while ensuring all data management—both physical and digital—is organized.
Candidate Requirements
To excel in this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
* Academic Background: Hold a minimum Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a closely related field.
* Academic Achievement: A minimum GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00.
* Technical Proficiency: A strong understanding of drilling and blasting operations, including detonation systems, explosive handling, and blast pattern design.
* Software Skills: Familiarity with industry-standard mining software such as Surpac, Viewshot, or Shotplus is highly desirable.
* Analytical Ability: Fundamental knowledge of geotechnical principles and how rock properties influence blast design.
* Professional Mindset: Proven ability to manage time, costs, and resources effectively in a high-pressure environment.
* Safety Commitment: A deep-rooted commitment to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards and a solid grasp of explosive regulations.
* Soft Skills: Must be a proactive learner, physically fit for field work, and highly adaptable to the dynamic challenges of a mine site.
